Three days Orientation Programme for YRC Programme Officers and YRC Volunteers .

The Youth Red Cross of Mother Teresa Women’s University has conducted a 3 days Orientation Programme for YRC Programme Officers and volunteers from 5th October to 7th October 2009 at Madurai. 10 Programme Officers and 90 volunteers have participated.

The inaugural function was held on 5th October 2009. Dr.V.Jeyalakshmi, YRC Co-coordinator welcomed the gathering. Prof. Dr. Aruna Sivakami, Vice-Chancellor of Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal presided over the function. The inaugural address was given by Sh. P.M. Mannan, Deputy Mayor, Madurai Corporation. Dr. Kadar Basha, Hony. Advisor, YRC, State Branch has given Key Note address. Prof. Dr.G. Gannasambandan, Thiagarajar College, Madurai felicitated the occasion. Sessions were covered on History of Red Cross, Social harmony, Yoga, Communication skills, Disaster Management, Road safety, media management and first aid.

The Valedictory address was given by Shri. R.M. Subbiah, ITS General Manager, Projects BSNL, Madurai.
