The Post – Tsunami Project INI aims at strengthening the Restoring Family Links network of the Indian Red Cross Society by sending the Family News Staff working at the State Branch for an internship to other National Societies. In continuation, that  Swedish Red Cross invited Mr.N.Krishnamurthy, Tracing Officer, Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch for internship with Swedish Red Cross from 1st February to 22nd February-2009 (3 Weeks).

The objective of the internship was to build the capacity at the gross roots level in the District Branches for carrying out the various RFL activities. To gain the theoretical and practical knowledge on Restoring Family Links and developing tracing activities in state level and District level. Training Period: from 01.02.2009 to 15.02.2009 internship with the departments of Swedish Red Cross NHQ, Stockholm. The final week deployed to the Northern part of Sweden Regions- Lulea, Skellftea and Umea.

This internship has lend a hand to develop the intellectual capacity about the Tracing activities , usage of modern technology in Database system ,  Legal support for Asylum Seekers Process & Refugee Law , Recruitment of Volunteers, Psycho Social Supports for refugees given by the Volunteers, ,  Volunteers management system , Communication Department with the RFL , Ownership, other activities supports to promote the Life Standard of Asylum seekers and refugees who are failed in asylum process, Legal & psychological aid to the Un accompanied Minors, First aid & Psychological training to the community, Travel assistance , Family Reunification , Airport Voluntary Service  and   etc.
