Disaster Management Program .

  Disaster Management training to JRC counselors and YRC programme officers at Trichy on 20.01.2011.

  As a part of strengthening disaster preparedness and response capacity of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch, a one day Disaster management training programme organized in Trichy district. The main objectives of the training programme strengthening disaster Management capacity of JRC/ YRC and district branch, the disaster management capacity of district branches by forming a group of trained volunteers to support vulnerable communities to prepare for and to respond during disasters. 40 Committed JRC/YRC coordinator and 20 Volunteers participated the one ay training program. The participants were given thorough information on Red Cross principles, code of conduct, duties and responsibilities of volunteers in preparedness and response, community mobilization for effective disaster preparedness and response, relief management, emergency assessment and strategies to improve inter agency coordination at district level.
