Refresher Training to District Disaster Response Team (DDRT).

One day refresher training was organized to the members of district disaster response team (DDRT) members of Chennai district branch. 35 members participated in this one day training. Dr.P.A.Sathianarayanan, Hon.Secretary, IRCS Chennai District Branch inaugurated the training. During the training a brief recap on the previous DDRT training was done by Thiru. C. Anbarasu, DM Coordinator. During the experience sharing session the participants shared their experience on the work which they undertook in the flood affected areas of Chennai district.

As a follow-up of this refresher training state branch planned to organize sector wise training programs in regular interval to equip the DDRT members DP/DR capacity for better response. This proposal was taken forward. During the training some of the participants came forward to conduct awareness programs on global warming and climate change in schools and colleges of Chennai district. A plan was worked out to take this initiative forward with the participation of Junior Red Cross (JRC) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) and to reach maximum students.
