Blood bank

Indian Red Cross Society , Tamil Nadu Branch, Blood Bank has conducted 15 camps and collected 1491 units of blood during the month of January 2010.

BLOOD GROUPING CAMP:

One Blood grouping camp was conducted in which 247 nos.of blood grouping were done.

ISSUE OF WHOLE HUMAN BLOOD:

            900 units were issued on requisition to various hospitals. In certain deserving cases, free of cost to Government Hospitals on requisition of Resident Medical Officer.

COMPONENT SEPARATION UNIT:

            In  Blood Bank, blood components like Fresh Frozen Plasma, Packed Cell Volume and Platelet Concentrate are separated with modern equipments and blood supplied to hospitals and nursing homes on requisition.
