Blood Bank

A 24 hours Blood Bank is functioning within the Red Cross premises. During the month of February 2010 the Blood Bank has conducted 9 Blood Donation Camps collecting 930 units of blood. In addition, one Blood Grouping Camp was also conducted where 250 nos. of blood grouping were done. 880 units were issued on requisition from various hospitals. Blood components like Fresh Frozen Plasma, Packed Cell Volume and Platelet Concentrate are separated utilizing modern equipments. During the month, 116 Fresh Frozen Plasma, 77 Packed Cell Volume, 83 Platelet Concentrate were issued to Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
