Staff capacity building workshop –YPEP- HIV/AIDS .

The State Level capacity building workshop was organized by IFRC and NHQ at IRCS -Kakinada. YPEP State coordinators, District Coordinators and the Counselors from Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh were participated in this workshop .The workshop was conducted from 19.08 2009 to 24.08. 2009.

The six days workshop included one day field visit. First five days sessions handled by IFRC team members, National coordinators and state coordinators. The capacity building was given through group discussion, presentation, teaching methods and field visit. Pre test and post test staff assessment also done in this session. The final day of the workshop participants visited Andhra Pradesh central jail and met prisoners and the peer educators. And also we visited few colleges and schools and interact with the peer educators and peer group members. This training was really useful to developed YPEP staff capacity. And this workshop also used as sharing staff experience and adopts new idea. There were 30 staff from Tamilnadu and Andhra Prade sh was benefited.

DISTRICT ACTIVITIES:

YPEP Villupuram District staff distributed more than 2500 IEC materials about HIV/AIDS and swine flu.

Swine flu awareness rally conducted at Perambalur District.

HIV/AIDS & Swine flu awareness given to school students.
