Youth Red Cross-4-day State level YRC Students Study Camp

4 day State level YRC Students Study Camp for YRC volunteers & Programme Officers sponsored by IRCS, TNB were conducted at Sir C.V. Raman Hall, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai from 6th to 9th April 2010. Prof.R.Karapaga Kumaravel, Vice-chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University delivered the presidential address. Tmt. Shantha Diaz, Secretary, IRCS, TNB delivered the inaugural address. Prof.P.Chelladurai, Director, Dept.of Youth Welfare, Madurai Kamaraj University delivered the key note address. Prof.A.Kadar Basha, Hony.Advisor, YRC, IRCS, TNB & Dr.V.Velusamy, Secretary, i/c, IRCS, Madurai District Branch felicitated occasion.

Sessions were covered on Red Cross Movement, Conflict Resolution, Yoga, Voluntary Blood donation, Awareness on HIV/AIDS. 187 YRC volunteers, 17 Programme Officers from various universities like Anna University (Coimbatore), Alagappa University, Periyar University, University of Madras, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Annamalai University. Besides 12 colleges from Madurai Kamaraj University participated. The participants had yoga practice in the morning every day

YOUTH ON THE MOVE

Dr. Jothipackiam, the district organizer of Nagapattinam District had organized a cycle rally from Kothidam to Vedarayanam to create the awareness on the Red Cross Moment and its activities. 25 participants participated in this rally.
