World Health Day

During April 2010 on the occasion of the World Health Day following Programmes were conducted in Red Cross District Branches of Tamil Nadu.

On 7th April 2010, World Health Day Celebration was conducted at Thirunelveli District Red Cross Branch. During the Celebration Medical camp was conducted for the Bone Mineral Density by Dr. G. Ajith Ingio M.S.(Ortho) ,Medical College Hospital Thirunelveli 86 patients were benefited . Thiru. M.Jayaraman , I.A.S., District Collector presided over the function 

Thiruvannamalai District Red Cross Branch celebrated World Health Day at District Headquarters Hospital Campus, Tiruvannamalai. The District Collector & Ex-officio President of the tiruvannamalai district red Cross Branch participated .About 100 members were participated.

On 07.04.2010 Pammal, St.Thomas Mount Red Cross Sub Branch celebrated World Health Day at Municipal Primary School Alandur, Chennai. 250 Students and teachers participated in this programme. During the programme the significance of World Health Day and how to keep the environment without pollution were emphasized through puppet show, Skit, Dance and by Quiz. Prizes were distributed to the best performers.

On 09.04.2010 World Health Day was celebrated by the Villupuram Red Cross Branch at Ramakrishna Matriculation School Villupuram. Awareness was created about diabetes and evils of Smoking. A procession in and outside the school was held distributing the booklets containing the health factors of diabetes and evils of smoking to the public by Students. The Chief Educational Officer , Villupuram presided over the function.

On 13.04.2010 World Health Day was Celebrated by Indian Red Cross Society, Vellore district Branch in association with Indian Medical Association. Thiru. C. Rajendran , I.A.S., Collector of Vellore District was the chief Guest. During the Celebration awareness programme on how to protect from illness and causes for illness and how to protect people from epidemic were handled by the Experts from Health Department. 300 participants were participated in the above programme.
