Blood Bank

Blood Donation camps were conducted during April 2010 by Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch Blood Bank unit in following 9 camps and 473 units of Blood were collected.

ISSUE OF WHOLE HUMAN BLOOD:-

        924 units were issued on requisition to various hospitals. In certain deserving cases, 5 units issued free of cost to Government General Hospitals on requisition from Resident Medical Officer.

COMPONENT SEPARATION UNIT:-

        In our Blood Bank, blood components like Packed Red Cell, Fresh Frozen Plasma and Platelet Concentrate are separated and blood supplied to hospitals and Nursing Homes on requisition.
