FAMILY NEWS SERVICE

As a part of Family News Service Programme (RFL- Restoring Family Links) , the Tracing Officer,IRCS TNB has undertaken visits to Srilankan Refugee camps in Tirunelveli District from 21.11.2011 to 25.11.2011.

In all the visits, District Branch , Sub – District Branch , Youth Red Cross and Junior Red Cross representatives were also involved.

21.11.2011: He visited Aladiyur Refugee camp along with Thiru.Saleem , Secretary ,Ambasamuthiram Sub District Branch . Dissemination about the Tracing Service was given to the refugees by the Sub District branch Secretary.

22.11.2011: Gopala Samuthiram Refugee camp at Ambasamuthiram Taluk along with Thiru.Jebasingh, Vice Chairman , IRCS , Tirunelveli District Branch

23.11.2011: Refugee camp at Perumal Puram, Palayam Kottai along with Thiru.Jebasingh, Vice Chairman , IRCS , Tirunelveli District Branch .

24.11.2011:Boganallur Refugee camp at Tenkasi Taluk along with Thiru Rajaiah Thasildhar Tenkasi Taluk ,Thiru Subramaniyam, Secretary , Tenkasi Sub District Branch , Thiru . Antony Joseph Bose JRC Counselor, R.C.Veeramamuniver High School , Tenkasi , YRC Programme officers from Parasakthi College ,Annasamy Rajammal College of Nursing , J.P.College of Arts & Science, Tenkasi and Volunteers from Sub District Branch. During the above visit the on the -job training was given to JRC , YRC and Sub – District Branch volunteers.

25.11.2011: visited Pavur Chattiram Refugee Camp (10 Families ) at Tenkasi Sub - District Branch along with Thiru Subramaniyam, Secretary , Tenkasi Sub District Branch , Thiru . Antony Joseph Bose , JRC Counselor, R.C.Veeramamuniver High School , Tenkasi .

Totally 32 Tracing Requests were registered during these Visits. Further follow-up actions is being taken by the trained volunteers in Tirunelveli District.Details collected from the refugees have been sent to NHQ , New Delhi as well as Commissioner of Rehabilitation , Chepauk , Chennai -5.
